  1. Seriously the best brownies ever. Made these for my dads 60th, and let me tell you he is a food SNOB and he does not give out 5 stars easily by any means… he said they were the best brownies he has ever had 🙂

  2. Ive now made these 3 times while ignoring the Ghirardelli brownie mix box from Costco that is sitting in our pantry.

Most recently I used medium roast Tasters Choice instead of Espresso powder amd I used almost half of a Trader Joe's dark chocolate Pound Plus bar.

I also tossed in a xup and a half of pecans and some chopped up dark chocolate morsels left over from another recipe. SO GOOD.

The caffeine count is high in this recipe so dont each much after noin or youll lie awake wondering why you can't sleep.

  3. Do you guys have any ideas for improvement on this? I wanna try browned butter and a frosting on top, do you have any more suggestions? Would love to hear them 🙂

  4. One thing I really appreciate that's done in this video, is both explaining and showing the alternatives. Like what would happen if you underdo/overdo something.

  5. This recipe did not work for me. I precisely measured 75% of the quantities as my pan was quite smaller. The resulting batter was less liquid than the one presented in the video, the top did not crack after 20 minutes of cooking, the coffee taste was overpowering, and the brownie was overcooked after at 40 minutes. Possibly I am too difficult, for instance I think Tartine's brownies are mediocre. I was hoping for Ann's Bakeworks level here but that was not it.

  6. i love how dark these brownies look. but texture wise it was cakey and strong coffee to taste. i baked them at 350F for 20min then between 350-300 to finish. any tips for how to make them harder? i dropped from 350-300 because of cake texture, forgot to type that in

  8. First time making brownie from scratch, the instruction is so hard to follow. Wish the ingredient amounts are shown in the video, and make it in a more step by step fashion. It was so frustrating trying to follow this recipe.

  9. This looks great, but 45 minutes sounds way too much. I've made brownies, never went more than 25 minutes, usually around 20 I would say… One time I did, they were kind of too dry, not fudgy. Maybe you didn't preheat the oven?

  10. I made a special trip to the grocery store to gather the ingredients. I followed the directions precisely. The batter was beautiful! Put it in the oven. Tapped it on the counter and put it back in the oven When I took it out what I had was a pan of DRY boring bland chocolate cake. Ignore this recipe and look elsewhere.
